Because we are multidisciplinary, we are able to offer the full range of outpatient mental health services in one setting. Because we are a group practice, our clinical staff are able to offer a broad range of clinical skills, experience, and areas of specific expertise. For individuals or families that may benefit from the services of more than one clinician, we are able to collaborate and work together as a team to provide the most effective and convenient care.
Psychiatrists: Medical Doctors (M.D.), with four to five years of specialized residency training after medical school in the evaluation and treatment of mental health problems. (Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists train as general psychiatrists, and then complete two more years of sub-specialty training in child development and the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents.)
Clinical Psychologists: Doctorate level clinicians with either a Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.
Psychiatric Social Workers: Clinicians with a Masters degree in Social Work (M.S.W.), and licensed as an L.I.C.S.W. (licensed independent clinical social worker).
Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialists: Nurse practitioners with advanced training as mental health specialists (R.N., C.S.), licensed and certified to provide direct, individual mental health care and to prescribe medication in collaboration with a physician.
All of our staff are individually licensed in their respective discipline, and all have had many years of specialized training and experience. You or your family member may work with only one of our clinical staff, or may see more than one (for example, a psychiatrist may see you to prescribe and monitor medication, while you see a psychiatric social workers or a clinical psychologist for psychotherapy).
Although all of our staff have broad training and experience in many different aspects of mental health care, we also all have areas of particular expertise.
