How do I arrange an initial consultation? Read more
The first step towards treatment here at Comprehensive Psychiatric Associates is to call the Intake Department at 781-489-2350 or submit an Intake Request form. From there, an Intake Coordinator will contact you during a specified timeframe of your choosing during standard business hours. Please be prepared to answer preliminary questions over the phone for about 10 minutes and have your insurance information available. And please be in a setting you feel comfortable sharing private demographic, insurance, and clinical information. We do NOT recommend calling while driving.
Are you accepting new patients? Read more
Availability is constantly fluctuating and determined on a case by case basis. Every clinician has his or her own schedule and hours, as well as specific populations of patients that he or she specializes in treating. The initial intake over the phone is a process to help our directors determine specifically if we have an available clinician that is a good clinical match for you or your child’s needs. We cannot provide a definitive answer regarding availability without receiving the initial information via phone. However, intake coordinators are happy to answer particular questions about availability prior to completing the intake to the best of their abilities. You can contact the Intake Department directly at 781-489-2350.
What can I do if you cannot offer me an appointment? Read more
If we are not able to offer you an appointment we recommend contacting your primary care physician or your insurance company for referrals.
What do I need to bring to my first appointment? Read more
Prior to being seen for your first appointment you will be required to fill out the Consent to Treatment, Financial Policies Agreement, and the Adult Questionnaire or the Parent Questionnaire in tandem with the School Questionnaire if the patient is under the age of 18. The questionnaires will be mailed to your address after completing the intake process and scheduling your first appointment. We also ask all new patients to fill out the Credit Card Authorization form. It is preferable to bring the paperwork to the initial appointment to review with your clinician rather than sending it to us prior to coming in. Please also bring your insurance card to allow us to scan the image into our system. If you have additional paperwork that you feel would be helpful to your clinician you may bring that as well, but it is not required for the initial appointment.
What hours are clinicians available for appointments? Read more
Generally the practice sees patients Monday through Friday as early as 7:00 AM and as late as 8:00 PM. However, schedules can vary throughout the year and each clinician has his or her own individualized office hours. Not all clinicians are in our office five days a week and not all clinicians hold early morning or evening appointments.
What is your cancellation policy? Read more
Our cancellation policy requires that you call at least 48 business hours in advance of the appointment in order to avoid being charged. This is so that we will have enough time to schedule other patients who need appointments. If the appointment is on a Monday or following a long weekend, the cancellation should be made before noon on the previous working day. We also charge for appointments that are missed without prior cancellation. Insurance generally does not cover charges for missed appointments or late cancellations; therefore, any charges will be your responsibility. We generally require that charges for missed appointments or late cancellations be paid at or before the next visit.
In order to respect all patients’ time and schedules, we try very hard to stay on time for appointments. However, if an emergency has come up in the office, there may be a delay. Otherwise, you will need to be on time to make full use of your scheduled time.
How do I contact my clinician? Read more
The best way to contact your clinician is to submit an Email Your Clinician form. If you need to contact your clinician regarding an emergency you should either call the front desk and ask to speak with your clinician directly or call our emergency line if the office is closed.
